Vertigo and dizziness symptoms can sometimes come from tight muscles in the neck and shoulders. If you have dizziness symptoms and your physician is unable to find anything in the inner ear complex, then it might be caused by your muscles. Other common symptoms include: loss of motion in the neck, fullness or pressure in ear, muffled sounds in ear, teeth pain, neck pain, and symptoms that worsen with stress.
By treating the muscles with physical therapy, the vertigo can subside. Manual therapy and dry needling, along with strategic stretching and deep muscle strengthening can help these symptoms decrease quickly and subside. Emphasis is also put on teaching you how to recognize what makes these symptoms worse and how to prevent these types of episodes from occurring again.
Pelvic floor pain, neck pain, and/or jaw tension often go together. This is why treating the neck, head, and jaw pain and tension has become one of my "accidental" specialties, because many of my patients who have pelvic floor dysfunction also have had cervical and TMJ pain. Chronic holding patterns in the neck and jaw create muscle tension over time, which can cause pain. Varying therapy techniques are used to relax these muscles throughout the head, neck, jaw, and shoulders.
